Title: Calm in Chaos
Rating/Warnings: PG, m/m
Word Count: 200
Jindovan's job is keeping perfect balance. There must always be just as much bad as there is good, as much death as there is birth, as much black as there is white.
Kaly calls him Jin; he is the only one who does. Sometimes it bothers Jindovan that there's not an even number of people who do, but then Kaly comes around with his bright blonde hair and his swirling, confusing blue eyes. To humans, they're stressful: what should they decide to see - ice or midnight or sky or ocean? Kaly is the God of Choices.
Kaly calls him Jin, kisses him sweetly, all lips and all soul. He is the only one who does. Kaly spends far more time on Jindovan than he does on other things, whispers in Jindovan's ear that "some choices are easy." And being with Kaly is easy; it's no sacrifice and all gain.
It is the imbalance of them that makes them balanced; they are Yin and Yang. Jindovan knows every consequence of every cosmic shift. He knows what would happen if he lost Kaly.
How could the world possibly remain standing when the very God of Balance lacks his equilibrium, stumbles, and falls?

"Aren't you angry I told you no again?" Aero asks. She tugs him closer; he obediently slides his hands underneath her dress. He looks up from where he's been concentrating on her legs. His eyebrows are drawn, his eyes shine like liquid. He is hurt at her rejection, confused she doesn't understand.
"Whether you marry me or not," he murmurs, his voice strained but not with impatience or frustration like she wants it to be. "I love you."
"Of course you do," Aero says. She tilts her head back (so he can't see her hard eyes) and lets Pyc kiss her neck.
Obviously, it'll be fleshed out later with more detail and a better beginning, maybe a better ending. Who knows. I don't think it's going in the book though. I think they've gotten all the attention they're getting already.

The government can order service providers to block websites for infringing links posted by any users.
Risk of Jail for Ordinary Users
It becomes a felony with a potential 5 year sentence to stream a copyrighted work that would cost more than $2,500 to license, even if you are a totally noncommercial user, e.g. singing a pop song on Facebook.
Chaos for the Internet
Thousands of sites that are legal under the DMCA would face new legal threats. People trying to keep the internet more secure wouldn't be able to rely on the integrity of the DNS system.

“We support the bill’s stated goals — providing additional enforcement tools to combat foreign ‘rogue’ websites that are dedicated to copyright infringement or counterfeiting,” the Internet companies wrote in Tuesday’s letter. “Unfortunately, the bills as drafted would expose law-abiding U.S. Internet and technology companies to new uncertain liabilities, private rights of action and technology mandates that would require monitoring of websites.” The chamber-led coalition in support of the bill includes Walmart, Eli Lilly & Co. and Netflix.
Google and other opponents of the legislation argue that restricting the Internet in the U.S. sets a bad international precedent and that the language defines infringing too broadly.

I have 821 words of poetry, 3057 words of prose, and 3878 words total. Yay! some more.
I also got a Iolynian marriage ceremony, between a man and a woman, worked out. In this society when a man and a woman marry, the woman then owns the man. The man continues to be her property until such time as they reach perfection as a couple; Ardce does not own Jularian because they are ideal, but pretty much all other wedded women own their husbands. I don't know what I'll do for man/man or woman/woman marriages yet. Anyway, have a description of Iolynian marriage in poetry:
Two can be linked forever,
their hands joined by the conductor of a God,
never to be separated again.
To be wed is a thing beautiful beyond all measure,
a woman given man – her greatest treasure.
The lovers stand before a crowd.
Her hand holds his
and his head is bowed.
After the blessing’s spoke, he kneels
and she graces him with her kiss.
He belongs to her now,
and until he reaches perfection or he dies.
That night he calls her Lady only
and next to him she lies;
neither ever again feel lonely.
This woman and her man tied taught,
the ropes too tight to be unbound.
The Gods hold them to their promises;
to her his will he bends,
to him providence she sends.

There is NO DIVORCE. Once you are married, you're married, the end. However, open marriages are not unheard of nor all that unusual. Jure and Mahanaio have an open marriage, in which Jure can be intimate with other woman while 'Naio is away in the mountains as long as she has his full attention when she's there.

So I totally lied to you about posting those pictures of post-sanded pre-glazed elephant/teapot salt & pepper shakers. I forgot about taking those. And now the glaze is being fired as I type. But they're super cute, just like I planned them, with a color scheme of grey, lilac, and robin's egg. Sentence full of commas is comma-full. I'm also making my brother and father ornaments, a drum and a sailboat respectively. And some icons (mostly for fandom, so if you want to see them you'll have to derp on over to my fanfic journal). Epic me is epic. Repetitive sentences are repetitive.
AND the last three gods of the thirty in my beautiful Tal'verse are soon to be named. Here's a poll!
The God of Communication should be named...
The Goddess of Sex/Sexuality should be named...
The Goddess of Truth is hereby named Fhírinne.
I have a suggestion!
You use too many exclamation points!
Yay! I feel productive. I've also achieved a very nice sketch of daytime-Aero. On Sunday I will hopefully also achieve a nighttime-Aero sketch, and maybe call up a beautiful friend to model and help me draw a neat pose of Ardce and her frog self. Wish me luck!

Also, I've had this GREAT idea for a music video type thing. I have the concept, costumes, and lighting pretty mapped out in my head and I have two performers on stand-by. It's not quite choreographed and I think I'm going to let them artistically interperet my concept and vague direction for themselves. The only issue now is mainly money. We need a kareoke version of the song, we need the costumes... And also, I have NO IDEA how to do the lighting stuff. So that sucks, but it's a great idea, and I'm sending Performer No. 1 the details tonight.
Third, and most excitingly, I'm working on this great new novel/epic. Yes, you read that correctly - novel/epic. It takes place QUITE a while ago and is a fantasy with magic and dieties (and demigods) and souls, so I wanted it to be sort of like the actual Myths we know of today, or like what a bard might sing. And so, epic. But, I thought that maybe true character development would be hard to get into poetry, so I added some prose in there too. Hence, novel. Therefore, novel/epic.
( Enclosed are my favorite stanzas so far and a list of the Gods and their romantic attachments.Collapse )
So far I have 534 words of poetry and 939 words of prose. And I'm feeling pretty awesome. Just saying.
Oh, yeah! I also discovered some neat ideas for my heretofor fruitless murder mystery(?) novel today in my Criminal Justice class, and they are: Restraint Theory, Containment Theory, Neutralization Techniques, and Labeling Theory. The first two are theories on why people aren't criminals and the last two are theories on why they are. And now I have to go discover what Conflict and Emergent theories are...
I am so a daughter of Bel. Hee! :3
